Water's Edge... a wee bit larger.

"Water's Edge II"
36x72
Oil on (2) panels
finished piece coming soon!

To be brief, I have been painting. My summer shows begin in 3 weeks and I have a zillion things to accomplish before then. So as much as I would like to keep posting, I have to put my blog on the back burner for a little while and maximize my time as much as possible in order to play some catch up. Please find me on Facebook to see my quick random thoughts and photos as my deadlines approach... paintings in progress, random thoughts throughout the day in the studio, and probably some pictures of me loosing my mind as I plow through the next few weeks!

I will be taking my "show on the road" for the first time this year, for an artfair called "Artfest" in Spokane, WA, starting June 4th-6th.

One checked off the list!

Under-painting

Half way through...

The final
"Exploring the Water's Edge"
16x32
Oil on Panel
SOLD

Finished this one yesterday... it is actually done on two 16x16 panels to form one piece. Wishing I could share a better photo of the final with you, but there is soooo much glare from the fantastic sun that I can only take a picture of it from the side. The colors are way more vibrant than shown here, so poo poo on my camera not being able to read my mind and capture it.

It will be on display starting May 8th at my opening at Venue in Ballard, Washington. More information on my upcoming show can be found HERE.

My Profile Picture has SOLD!

"Through the Trees"
16x21
Oil on Canvas mounted to panel
SOLD

My reception at Vino Verite in Seattle, WA was incredible! Thank you to all my friends, collectors, and everyone that came out to support me that evening! And the wine tasting was fantastic! Wine and art go so well together! The show is up until the end of the month and don't forget that there are a lot of pieces that are 30% off!

I am also excited to announce that this may be one of my last shows at a venue such as this... come August I will have official representation by the Cole Gallery in Edmonds, WA. I will be one of their featured artists that month! If it's a good fit, they will keep me on! I am very excited! They currently are carrying my hand painted Tree Charms at the gallery too, so don't hesitate to contact them for a selection there! Mother's Day is coming up and they make really special gifties! Read the article, "Art in the Palm of Your Hand", that was written about me on their blog... click here.

Simply, So Simple

"Simplified"
5x5
Oil on Panel

I am really enjoying my exploration of this subject matter. The more of them I do, the more I let go and let experimentation come into play. While I let umber dominate the undertone, it is the subtle hints of cool blue in the trees that I love.

These forest images are purely from my imagination and inspired from memories of a place I spent a lot of time when I was a child... I let the paint blend together with glazing medium watching the colors often mix themselves right there on the wood's surface. While painting these little memories, it sort of reminds me of the way I mingled through the trees often getting lost in my imagination until dinner time...
